Biography

I am a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist specializing in addiction psychology, with a comprehensive background in integrated behavioral health services. My professional work encompasses a comprehensive approach to behavioral health, including:

  • Developing substance use disorder programs including an office-based opioid treatment program
  • Implementing primary care-based gender-affirming care program
  • Delivering trauma-informed therapeutic interventions

My academic and professional journey has been focused on understanding complex psychological challenges. My doctoral dissertation explored the long-term spiritual and psychological effects of clergy sexual abuse, offering a comparative analysis with abuse by family and non-family members.

With over a decade of experience in Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) as both a clinician, a supervisor, and a training director, I have developed a nuanced approach to integrated healthcare. Beyond my clinical practice, I offer specialized consulting services that leverage my deep expertise in addiction psychology and behavioral health interventions.

Professional Interests:

  • Substance use disorders
  • Trauma treatment
  • Gender-affirming care
  • Integrated behavioral healthcare
  • Education, training, and professional development

Outside of my professional work, I find joy in:

  • Quality time with family
  • Exploring engaging literature
  • Enjoying classic television like M*A*S*H
  • Exploring computer technologies

Theoretical Orientation

My theoretical orientation is grounded in Social Learning Theory, which emphasizes that learning occurs through:

  • Oberservational processes
  • Direct social interactions
  • Cognitive interpretations of environmental experiences

A key principle of my approach is developing self-efficacy. Through carefully designed interventions, I aim to empower individuals by increasing their confidence and capacity for personal change.
